Rakia Marcus is from Stone Mountain, GA and graduated from Tucker High School. She attended Valdosta State University for College where she earned her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and later receiving her Master's Degree in School Counseling. Mrs. Marcus began her counseling career in 2008 at Gainesville Middle School in Gainesville, GA. She later moved to Gainesville High School serving as the 9th grade counselor and eventually 9-12 counselor. She also coached football and basketball cheerleading for 10 years and founded the 500 Queens organization in 2016.

Mrs. Marcus always knew she wanted to be a counselor in some form or fashion since she was in 8th grade. She even convinced her parents to buy her “therapists couch” for her room when she was in high school. She became a school counselor because of her love and belief in education and helping people find their purpose. Mrs. Marcus believes that no dream is too big, and it is her goal to encourage and build people up to believe in their dreams and to go for it anyway!

Mrs. Marcus met her husband, Cliff in college and they have been married for 11 years. They have 3 boys, Emory, Xaden, and Princeton. When she is not at school you can catch Mrs. Marcus at the baseball field cheering on her older boys or shopping at Target.
