Congratulations to our 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year finalists: Dr. Turner (Marketing), Mr. Coleman (Social Studies), Ms. Conrad (ELA), and Ms. McClure (ELA). These wonderful teachers were voted as finalists by their peers and will be observed by the BASA TOTY Selection Committee in February. Stay tuned to find out who is named the next BASA TOTY!

FIRE Chats at BASA

Shoutout to the BASA teachers and students for bringing FIRE Chats to life across the school! Through these intentional academic conversations, students are building the skills and confidence to discuss their learning, think critically, solve problems, and collaborate with purpose. FIRE Chats are more than just talk—they’re fueling deeper understanding, stronger voices, and a vibrant culture of learning at BASA. 🔥

Message from Mr. T

We want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy new year!

While it may be cold outside, our Blazers have started this semester on F.I.R.E. by being Future Focused, Innovative, Responsible, and Engaged. Classrooms have been active with thoughtful assignments to spark student thinking and collaboration, our coaches and athletes have been preparing for upcoming competition, and our clubs continue to serve our school and community.

Additionally, this time of year provides us with intentional reflection as we get ready to plan for the future.  This is why we value our partnership with all of our Blazer families and ask you for your input during surveys to provide valuable information as we continue to serve our students and community.

Students and staff will complete surveys to help us plan, and we ask all our families to please keep an eye out for messages regarding The Georgia School Climate Survey and other items that are important for our school to grow. During these surveys we invite you to share your thoughts and feedback as we continue to partner together for our students.

Thank you for your continued support as we begin another fantastic semester at BASA.

Yours in Education,

Thomas M. Thrailkill
