BASA's CTAE Department Shines During CTAE Month

As we celebrate CTAE Month, the BASA CTAE Department continues to provide students with hands-on, real-world learning experiences that prepare them for college, careers, and beyond.

The Marketing & Management Pathway is excited to announce that 🔥 The Firepit is back in action for Spring 2026! Students are not only delivering excellent customer service, but also learning firsthand how to manage and operate their own business. Marketing & Entrepreneurship students also welcomed District Partner in Education Bank OZK, where professionals shared valuable lessons on credit, interest rates, and smart steps students can take now to prepare for future home ownership.

Creativity is thriving in Graphic Design classes as students design and print their own original ideas and client-based projects. From custom mugs and t-shirts to flyers and even wrapping paper, students are gaining real production and design experience. Meanwhile, our Healthcare team is working diligently toward earning their Industry Certification—an important step in career readiness.

Student organizations and competitive teams are also making waves. TSA is preparing for their March competition, while Engineering Applications Level 3 students are busy building an electric ultralight max-range car for the Electrathon competition, designing and stress-testing bridges, and constructing podium boxes for the Special Olympics.

AP Computer Science Principles students recently solved binary-coded clues that led them on a building-wide adventure, while AP Computer Science A students took a creative break from screen coding by coding on construction paper and building concept maps to reinforce their learning.

In December, Game Design students hosted their very own arcade, inviting students and teachers to play the video games they designed and created. The event showcased their innovation, technical skills, and creativity—and was a huge success.

Teaching as a Profession students developed presentations on employability skills and critiqued emails for professionalism. They are also digging deep into teaching and learning through engaging, hands-on activities.

From entrepreneurship and engineering to healthcare and computer science, BASA’s CTAE programs continue to ignite passion, build skills, and prepare students for bright futures. Happy CTAE Month! 🔥

2026-2027 BASA Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Dr. Turner for being selected as the 2026-2027 BASA Teacher of the Year!

Message from Mr. T

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.” Martin Luther King, Jr.’s words remind us that true learning empowers students to grow through curiosity, innovation, and dedication. This month, BASA celebrates many examples of this growth in action.

We proudly recognize two district winners in the Young Georgia Authors Competition, whose outstanding writing showcases the power of thoughtful expression. We also applaud one of our students for successfully completing the requirements for a commercial UAS drone pilot license, demonstrating initiative and real‑world skill development.

Our BASA Blazers shined at the Regional Student Technology Competition, earning 12 gold medals and 3 silver medals, which is a testament to their innovation and problem‑solving abilities. Athletic achievements continue to shine as well, with three new school records from our Blazer Track Team and impressive performances and victories in soccer, tennis, golf, dance, and baseball.

Thank you to our students, teachers, coaches, staff, and families for working together to Fuel the F.I.R.E. and create meaningful learning experiences for our Blazers every day.

Yours in Education,

Thomas M. Thrailkill
